Providing accessible health-care services remains a priority in the country.

Leading the way in making this a reality, Samsung Electronics has donated a Solar-Powered Health Centre in the Ga-Ramotse community in Hammanskraal.
This innovative Health Centre aims to improve the health standards of the community. The centre has a number of resources and provides helpful services to the people of Ga-Ramotse, including screenings, equipment, as well as treatment.
The solar-powered centre is basically a 7 metres truck that comes with a small laboratory where blood tests can be conducted. At the centre, people can test for high blood pressure, malaria, diabetes as well as other conditions with the advantage of getting their results immediately after.
Patients can also get prescriptions and collect their medication at the nearest public clinic or government.
In a statement, head of Corporate Citizenship at Samsung South Africa, Pitso Kekana said, “the health of individuals in our communities is a major priority. We aim to use these centres to help combat the challenge of providing quality health care to those who live in more rural areas. We are confident that this solution will provide the support needed to improve health standards in the Ga-Ramotse community.”
In a community that still struggles with unemployment and lack of resources, this is hugely expected to improve the lives of people living in Ga-Ramotse by making quality healthcare available at their doorstep.
