When one mentions a soccer team, most people immediately associate the sport with men but here’s a chance for ladies to make their mark in the male-dominated industry.
It’s that time of the year again where renowned football club, Mamelodi Sundowns, goes on the lookout for South Africa’s brightest, freshest and most beautiful ladies to be the face of the club.
It’s only 5 days left before the deadline closes and young ladies across the country have the opportunity to prove why they should be the next Miss Sundowns by recording a 45 second video clip.
It goes beyond than simply beauty and catwalks. Launched five years ago, the idea behind the pageant is to give women a voice using a male-dominant platform. It’s an initiative that has been empowering women from across the country coming from different backgrounds. It has helped young women achieve their goals in different areas of life- from tuition fees at varsity to building their homes, every prize winner has a unique success story.
Current title-holder, Matlala Mokoko, has been vocal on social media encouraging all young women to enter what she describes as a life-changing opportunity. “It really is about woman empowerment and so take the chance. Be courageous and know why you want to be part of the Sundowns family. Be prepared to work hard and let that grow you,” the proud Miss Sundowns 2014 advised on the official website.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and not older than 25 years old on 1 December 2015, be a South African citizen and in possession of a valid South African Identity Document or Birth Certificate. Entrants also need to be in possession of a valid South African Matric Certificate and enter in a province within which they will be able to perform their duties as stipulated on the contract.
Ladies who believe they have what it takes to represent the Sundowns brand and who meet the minimum requirements can enter online at www.missms.co.za.
