Activities at Tshwane University of Technology suspended

tutThe Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) said that activities at the Pretoria (West), Ga-Rankuwa and Soshanguve campuses will remain suspended for staff and students tomorrow, 30 October 2015.

“We will communicate the details about the resumption of activities at these campuses tomorrow,” the TUT said in a statement. Activities at the distant campuses, as well as at the Arts and Arcadia campuses will continue as normal. Speakeing in Mamelodi to the class of 2015 matriculants, Mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa called for a speedy resolution to the current country-wide stand-off between university administrations and students on the proposed 2016 fee increases.  “ As host and home to three of country’s universities, the City of Tshwane will also re-look into how it can improve its services like transport, Wi-Fi, accommodation, health and other amenities , to ensure that we relief them of the burden of the cost of tuition – it is afterall their skills that drive our industries and improves our administration” said Mayor Ramokgopa.
