He is a hard working person who follows his passion and believe that he has what it takes to make it in the music industry.
His conviction has proven to be paying off as he is about to release his first album under his new record label, Emerge-A-Nation Records. He has been able to pull this off in between his working schedule and using part of his salary to finance his music career.
Earnest Mpho Hlongwane, was born 1988 in Trust Farm, Stinkwater near Hamanskraal. When he was young, his father wanted him to play cricet, however he enjoyed going to charch choir practice with this mother. This was part of following his passion when he chose music over sport and he has never looked back ever since. Ernest says when he lost his father, music became his solace. “I could not cope with the situation and I turned to music because it was the only thing that could keep me calm and I realised that I could tell people stories they could relate to.”
He has since made great strides sharing the stage with the likes of Doctor Malinga, Winnie Mashaba and Solly Moholo. When he started, he used to sing gospel music, but when he met up with musicians, Louis Mpho Manganye and Oscar Ngobeni, they shifted him to Afro-Pop music which became his new found sound. He is now busy with his debut album, ‘Tshepiso’ produced by Louis M Songz and three of his songs, ‘Yonk’intshipho ya washa,’ ‘Ungo wam,’ and ‘You are the one,’ are currently getting airplay at the local community radio stations. He has also shot a music video for the song ‘Ngizok’linda,’ featuring local artists and producers like Decency, Kat Maks, Josta, Odyccy, Dj Java, Ron Epidemic and Louis M songs. your reporter will be looking forward to to the release of his new album early next year.
