The City of Tshwane in partnership with the University of South Africa is launching an introductory of The Tshwane Green Economy Research Network.
The event will take place at UNISA, 1 Prellere Street, Muckleneuk (Dr Mirriam Makeba Concert Hall) on Tuesday the 24th of November 2016 at 8:00am. Tshwane Green Economy Research Network as a collaboration research and knowledge exchange platform takes a stand to advise and provide research support to the City of Tshwane in this agenda of transition towards a green economy. The executive mayor of Tshwane, Kgosientso Ramokgopa believes that the collaboration and exchange of knowledge through focused thematic networks will bring a significant contribution to a better understanding of the green economy pathway and coming up with sustainable ways to meet citizens’ social, economic and material needs. “The city has committed itself to a sustainable path of economic growth and development pursued in several ways including green urban designs, proving sustainable forms of public transport, intergraded transport systems, hybrid engines, green buildings and supporting the demand management interventions to mention a few.”- He said
This event brings researchers, academia, thought leaders and industry experts together in promotion of a shared-learning partnership, knowledge exchange and collaboration to advance green projects in the capital city.
