Residents commuting to Tshwane to be aware of roadworks starting from February till end of April

Two sections of Paul Kruger Street will be off limit to motorists from 1 February 2016 until the end of April 2016.

This is to allow the A Re Yeng contractor to resurface Paul Kruger Street between Nana Sita Street and Pretorius Street. The contractor will also be extending the sidewalks to the required width.
Streets that will be closed off to traffic are Paul Kruger Street between Nana Sita Street and Francis Baard Street and Paul Kruger Street between Francis Baard Street and Pretorius Street.
All tenants of buildings with underground parking will be granted access to their associated parking.
The City of Tshwane is preparing to operate Line 1A of the A Re Yeng project. Line 1A will therefore become operational from the corner of Nana Sita Street and Paul Kruger Street along Paul Kruger Street and Mansfield Avenue to the Rainbow Junction intermodal facility.
Motorists are advised to use the following deviations:
From the inner city to Pretoria North:
• Motorists can travel on Francis Baard Street and use either Bosman Street or Lilian Ngoyi Street to exit the city towards Pretoria North.
• Motorists can travel on Nana Sita Street and use either Bosman Street or Lilian Ngoyi Street to exit the city towards Pretoria North.
• Motorists can travel on Pretorius Street and use either Bosman Street or Lilian Ngoyi Street to exit the city towards Pretoria North.
From Pretoria North towards the inner city:
• Motorists can travel on Paul Kruger Street until they reach Madiba Street.
• Motorists can then turn left onto Madiba Street and then right onto Thabo Sehume Street.
• Motorists can then access the inner city by using either Pretorius Street or Nana Sita Street.
Motorists are urged to drive within the indicated speed limit and to be alert to construction vehicles that will be travelling on the surrounding roads.
