The year 2016 marks 40 Year Anniversary since the Soweto Student Uprising of 1976 where youth joined together to fight the standard of education.

Those uprising contributed immensely to the struggle to liberate South Africa from the shackles of apartheid. However, today’s youth are fighting a different fight of unemployment and expensive education which leaves them stressed and frustrated where some resorted to extreme substance abuse.
Ramotse My Home Foundation recognise the serious nature of these substance abuses cases and the detrimental impact it has in the community and has committed to manage drugs abuse through dialogue, workshops, awareness campaigns and educational programmes.
“We believe that all these programmes can bring solutions to the challenges faced by the entire community,” said Amaleah Mbewe, the foundation’s public relations officer.
“Our first engagement will be on the 18th June 2016, a month dedicated to Youth in South Africa, we will be hosting Operation Thibele Nyaope campaign which will be held at Lebelo Primary School in Ramotse from 08h00 to 14h00.
“We have invited Religious leaders, Community leaders, Organisations against drug abuse, Ex-addicts and youth at large and we believe that through dialogue most youth that are trapped in drugs will receive necessary help and join rehabilitation programmes that will lead to total healing,” she said.
