Tshwane Metro Police said they have received notices indicating a possible protest / strike by the Mass Taxi Industry Protest Action Committee (MTIPAC) on Thursday morning between 04h00 and 08h00.
The Metro Police warned the community in advance that certain areas in Tshwane may be affected.
In a statement the Metro Police said they suspect the march will be to the Nissan South-Africa at 56 Ernest Oppenheimer Str. in Rosslyn, Pretoria and the South-African Reserve Bank (SARB) at 370 Helen Joseph Street, Pretoria Central.
Some of the main freeways could also be affected, namely: Mabopane highway, R21, N1 and N4.
“As Tshwane Metro Police, we did not approve any march, should the march proceed it will be regarded as an illegal activity.
“However Tshwane Metro Police and other law enforcement agencies will deploy members to the affected areas for law enforcement.
“Members of the public are encouraged to report any illegal activity at: 012 358 7095 / 6 or 012 358 1906/05,” said Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba, the spokesperson of the Metro Police.
