The group of soldiers spent their 67 minutes campaign for Madiba cleaning the yard, tidying the garden, putting some nets to protect the plants in the garden and welded damaged beds for the kids to sleep well.

Officer Commander, Ms Helen Make, believes that Mandela day should not be just celebrated on the 18th of July only, “ Mandela day should be everyday, Mandela believed in helping people and we also believe his vision should continue” she said.

She said she would like to see other people happy and that is an achievement to her to meet other people’s needs.

Pitty Mamabulo the assistant manager at the home, said, “ They came at the right time and fixed the beds for the kids, which we were worried about and we are grateful for that, this is what Madiba did every time to help the needy.”

The Members of the South African Air Force said they believe that the biggest fight in the country is poverty which needs no gun, but an extended hand of generosity to the next person.
