Kekana Gardens murder accused, Lucas Mphamo Makhubela, is allegedly accusing his dead friend of killing Vincent Nkale, the man who went missing and was later found dead in a bush next to Mathabe Village near Boosplaas in Hammanskraal.
The friend the suspect is accusing was shot during a shootout with the police and later died in hospital following a raid of the suspects that killed Nkale.
The police today were seen in Temba and in Kekana Gardens in a heavy police convoy escorting the suspect to crime scenes to get the suspect to confirm the murders he is suspected of committing.
A source in Kekana Gardens said there was a helicopter hovering around as the police visited the suspected crime scenes to avoid the suspect escaping.
According to the source in the community, the suspect showed no remorse as he moved around the community escorted by heavy police presence.
“He seemed relaxed and was just smiling as he took the police from one place to the other. “We were not even aware that he committed some of the crimes until he took the police to the crime scenes,” the source said.
It is also alleged that he took the police to a shack where he hid his guns and ammunition.
Asked where the suspect got the guns from, the source said the suspicion is that he allegedly worked with about six crooked members of the police force.
“Two of the police members are alleged to have been arrested while the other four are alleged to have resigned from the force and fled.
It is also alleged that a prosecutor is involved and was allegedly paid R25 000 to make cases disappear.
It is alleged that three shebeen owners bought body parts from the suspect to make their businesses strong.
Of the three shebeen owners, only one is remaining in the community while the other two have left Kekana Gardens a while ago.
The suspect allegedly also took the police to the remaining shebeen owner whom he allegedly named as his customer of body parts. It is not clear if the shebeen owner was arrested during the raid today.
The death of Nkale sparked the community to stand up and take the law into their hands to force the police to address the serial murders that happened in Kekana Gardens over a long time.
Temba Police Spokesperson, Constable Herman Moremi, confirmed that the police were busy with the suspect today and warned the community to minimize depending on rumors and to rather wait for the investigation to be concluded and for the trial to take place where everything will be revealed.
