A 53-year-old man was arrested this morning 28 November 2017 at around 09:00 at Majaneng, Hammanskraal after he was found in possession of bags filled with marijuana in his house.
Temba Police Spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi, said they received a tip off call from an anonymous member of the community and quickly rushed to the location.
“After a routine search, we found two bags of dagga at street value of R10 000 per bag”
“The man became creative by claiming that he was instructed to plant the Marijuana plants in his yard by university students for herbal medical purposes but was unable to disclose which university requested him to do so,” Said Constable Moremi.
He said this is not the first time that the man was arrested for daggga possession, early in the year, around May, he was arrested for plating marijuana near Babelegi industrial area but was later released after being granted bail.
He is facing charges for being possession of marijuana and will appear at the Moretele magistrate Court soon.
