The Miss Tshwane Pageant auditions will be held on 12 May 2018 at Hatfield News Café from 12PM -2PM and continue on 13 May 2018 at the same time, at Cappelo Sunnypark Mall in Sunnyside Tshwane.

Coordinator of the Miss Tshwane Pageant, Ms Lerato Josephs, said the candidates will be interviewed to get an idea of who they are and if they are eligible to enter the Miss Tshwane Pageant.

There will then be numerous activities including a launch of the models before the glamorous Final Event in August 2018 at which the crowning of Miss Tshwane 2018 will take place.

She said the Miss Tshwane Pageant was an idea educed in support of youth campaigns combating poverty, unemployment and HIV/AIDS. The idea is to create a platform on which women of ages 18-30 can put their minds together to make positive changes to the outcomes of past-struggles.

The Pageant will also positively change lives by displaying the diverse talents of the chosen contestants and sourcing out employment opportunities for those women.

The judges of ‘Miss Tshwane 2018’ will be searching for women who are aware of the leader within and the potential that they have to become a beneficent member of the community.

Confidence, ability to work under pressure, flowing communication and a well grounded and charismatic personality are also qualities that can secure one a place in the Top 30.

“The young woman who takes the crown will have shown hard work and dedication throughout all the activities and meets all the above requirements of the judges.

“She will have stood out throughout the competition by exceeding expectations and carrying herself with faith, elegance and ambition. She will be recognised as the best-suited candidate to be the ambassador of the pageant for a year,” said Ms Josephs.

She said the Miss Tshwane competition is not only about winning the First Prize, but rather about meeting new people, growing one’s sociability, learning from others, challenging one’s self, stepping out of comfort-zones, giving back to the community and having fun.

“Overall, Miss Tshwane is a platform for learning, growing, changing lives and building Role models,” said Ms Josephs.
