Tumelo Karabo Sithole, an 18 year old boy from Tembisa who relocated to Hans Kekana View in Hammanskraal is making waves in the streets of Hammanskraal as a Dj and also as a person who gives back to the community.
DJ Exclusive, as he is affectionately known in the neighborhood, is a vibrant, outgoing and passionate person. After he moved to Hammanskraal, he decided to establish his music and events management business.
He has worked with the likes of Beans Kekana of Goods SA and Palema in hosting a first ever Coat of Hues Colour festival in Hammanskraal. This festival will be an annual event and will take place in two editions, the winter edition and the summer edition. It was motivated by the HelpSaveAGirl campaign that raises funds to buy sanitary pads for schools around Hammanskraal.
“The things I saw when I was growing up motivated me to start the campaign, even now at school girls miss school for more than three days each month because they are on their periods,” said Tumelo.
The Coat of Hues Colour aims to give potential kids with talent to discover themselves in music, poetry and creativity arts.
Juggling between organising events, music and running his campaign, the young man has to study hard for exams. Fortunately he has a support system at home from his general family and particularly his brother, Reatlegile Rantlhwatlhwa. “My family started to support me the day I said I want to be a DJ and I hope to bring change in people’s lives. I will be expanding to Atteridgeville, Mabopane and Soshanguve”, said Tumelo.
His next event will be on 23 June 2018 at Grand Chillout in Temba at 09:00 starting with a fun walk, morabaraba, skipping and other indigenous games.
