The City of Tshwane would like to express its confidence to the residents of Hammanskraal and nearby areas, which are supplied by the Temba Water Purification Plant (TWPP), that the water quality in their area is safe to drink and for any other additional use.
This reassurance follows the cable theft incident that occurred at the Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment Plant (RWWTP) on Thursday, June 21 2018, which led to the disturbance of the plant’s operational system. The cable that was stolen was swiftly replaced at the Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment Plant relays water to the Temba Water Purification Plant from which the communities in and around Hammanskraal receive water.
The Temba Water Purification Plant supplies Dilopye, New Eersterus, Temba, Babelegi Industries, Marokolong, Ramotse, Majaneng, Mandela Village, Sekampaneng and Hammanskraal.
Group Communication and Marketing Media Rlations Director, Mr Lindela Mashigo, appealed to the residents not to panic as the water supplied in the above-mentioned areas meets the minimum required standards.
“The City is committed to continuously monitor water supplied to the communities and in the event of abnormalities the City will address those deviations immediately, he said.
