It is true that life is unpredictable, in a blink of an eye you can go from having the best life to having noting or better yet we could say life is full of ironies.
24 September is commonly known as heritage day a day known for its celebrations and festivities. However while others are celebrating Zondi Sethebe resident of Eersterust Block A in Hammanskraal, lost all his property when his house caught fire at around 8pm.
Mr Sethebe was living in a shack in Eersterust According to him the fire was caused by a cigarette that he was smoking.
“I remember quite well it was around 8:00 when I finished smoking; I placed the cigarette on the ash tray thinking I had switched it off and I went to bed, minutes later I was woken up by smoke in the shack. I woke up kicked the door and managed to escape,” He said.
The cigarette caught clothing items which resulted to the uncontrollable fire. Sethebe not only suffered trauma, he was burnt on his arm.
The father of two says it hasn’t been easy since after the incident especially because he is currently unemployed. He would like to ask for any kind of assistance just so he can get back to his feet again you can. You can contact Petros Thembe if you have any kind of donations.
