Sutelong Community call for resignation of Councillor

The MEC for local government, Ms Motlalepula Rosho, addressed  Sutelong community about RDP Houses and water issues.

The Hammanskraal residents in Sutelong Ward 05 protested against service delivery and also to call for the resignation of their Councillor yesterday.

The residents complained that there has not been water for the period of five years and that their clininic should  be opened for 24 hours. They also mentioned that there is a high level of crime in their community and they need high mass lights, RDP houses and internal roads.

North West MEC for Local Government, Ms Motlalepula Rosho, promised the community that they will receive RDP houses in the new financial year starting in March. She also promised to resolve the issue of water temporary by using JoJo tanks.

Former Councillor, MR Benjamin Khoza, who was also one of the protesters, said that he has no personal agenda and that he is only helping the community to be heard by the officials.

“Even before the protest, the community has requested several meetings with the Councillor to come and account for the raised issues and  also wrote letters but the Councillor failed to attend the issues, ” said Mr Khoza

The councillor in qeustion know as Councillor Sehle, admited that he has received several letters of complaints from the community members.

” I have attended two meetings with the community and I have also addressed the issues to the ward committee. The people who are leading the protests are influenced by opposition parties and they are trying to push personal agendas using community members,” said Councilor Setlhe.
