
Community members came out in numbers to support the Hammanskraal Shining Stars Gospel group that showcased their singing talent in Section 7 Garden center near Themba during the weekend.
The gospel group that started in 2014 with the aim of entertaining at events such as funerals, weddings and unveilings, ended up also promoting at shops.
The Gospel group is led by women and men who are very determined and focused towards their goal. .
One of he members, Mr Vusi Makwela, said the reason they chose to sing gospel music is because they wanted to preach gospel to the youth who are mostly prone to being attracted to substance abuse.”we wanted to encourage them to follow the right path,’ he said.

His colleagues, Ms Elsie Rebese (46), who is a lead singer, said she discovered the love for music at a very young age and that her parents never supported her dream.
“It was not easy for me to walk alone in this journey without my parents approval. I thank God because they ended up believing in me after they listened to my CD,” said Ms Rebese.
Another group member, Ms Selena Raselomane (57), said it is not everyone who can survive in the music industry because there are many challenges.
“As artists, we should learn that challenges are not there to discourage us but to make us strong. I would like to see our gospel group going far like joyous celebration,” she said.
