Temba Service Delivery Inspection
The Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Mr Steven Makalapa, visited Temba today to inspect the Water Treatment Plant and Urban Management Projects.
The programme started at the Temba Water Treatment Plant where there is a construction of the expanded water treatment which is 99% complete. The water treatment plant is expected to be fully functional by April 2019.
Mayor Makalapa said he can confirm to the residents of Temba that the water in the area is good for human consumption, “I drank the water myself, it is good for consumption.
“The new water treatment will assist with increasing capacity to 120 kiloliters from the existing 60 kiloliters and also improve the water quality,” he said.
The mayor also visited the Social development and multipurpose community center which is also 99% complete. He said the center will be handed over within the next three weeks.
During his visit, the Mayor also went to an urban management project to unblock sewage pipes, fixed a water leaking pipe and inspected street lights being fixed as well as high mast lights and potholes.
At the inspection of the road project, workers complained that they were only given dust masks today by their seniors because the mayor was coming.
The Mayor said things must not happen because people know that he is coming, “from now I will ask for templates of urban management projects and conduct announced visits.
“So far I am happy with what I have seen,” he said.
