Boikanyo Mentally and Disabled Children Center in Hammanskraal Temba near Leboneng is in need of financial help to be equipped to provide proper support to the children.
Boikanyo is a Non-Governmental Organizations founded in 2004 with the aim of caring for disabled children who suffer from cerebral palsy, down syndrome, mental illness, hyper activity and epilepsy.
The center was previously subsidized by the Department of Health and it has currently stopped. Most of the children are left at the center for the year and parents pick them up in December.
Ms Tshepo Maphage (44), founder of the center said the facility is in need of sponsorship, donations and relevant assistance to maintain and improve the health and well-being of the disabled children.
She said they are unable to provide proper basic needs for the children such as food, medication, toiletries and warm clothes as winter approaches.
