One of Moretele World own, 33 year old Nkele Molapo was sworn in as a member of the Gauteng provincial Legislature today.
She was born in Majaneng Hammanskraal and grew up in Soshanguve. She is a second of 5 children of the late Matshidiso Molapo and also a mother of two boys aged 11 and 5.
Ms Molapo developed her love for politics when she was in high school and was elected as the president of the SRC at Senthibele secondary school in 2002.
She obtained her qualification as a journalist with Unisa as she believed that journalism would help her to know all the things she was curious about.
“I Joined the Democratic Alliance in 2013 as a Provincial media manager and in 2016 I was seconded to the Herman Mashaba’s mayoral campaign, as the media liaison officer. I got elected as a member of Tshwane council in 2016, it was here where I was also elected the chairperson of the portfolio committee responsible for housing.
“I did this until 21 May 2019, a day before I was sworn in as a member of the Gauteng provincial Legislature, “said Ms Molapo.
“I really want to say to the young girls that all your dreams are valid and with handwork and dedication, they can all come true,” she said.
