Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula, met with the community of Hammanskraal today to discuss transport challenges faced by the community.

At the meeting, the Minister promised to introduce a new bus service before the end of the week as a solution.

This is after community leaders marched to the Minister’s office in Pretoria to complain about what they explained as 10 years of suffering while using the Star Bus and NTI Bus services.

The Minister said his proposal to introduce a new bus service will solve the problem by taking out buses that are not road worthy, provide poor services and replace them with buses that will respond to the needs of the community by the end of the week.

“I will come back myself to introduced the new bus service to the people of Hammanskraal before the end of the week. President Ramaphosa appointed me to solve problems by the communities and that is exactly what I will do,” he said.

Ms Olivia Matlala, a resident in Hammanskraal said she is happy that the Minister has promised to solve the transport problem in Hammanskrall.

“This is a problem that has been going on for over 10 years, we are happy,” she said.
