The ANC youth league in ward 73 joined forces with Kamo Phashane Foundation to donate 300 packs of sanitary pads to Young girls in Ramotse village. The sanitary pads were distributed yesterday at Ramotse four-way stop, where Boitshepo Secondary and Lethamaga Secondary School pupils pass on their way home.

Mr Lucas Ndaba (25), the spokesperson of the ANCYL in ward 73, said, “we are doing this because not every young girl can afford to buy sanitary pads, more especially those who come from disadvantaged families.

“We are planning to execute this program every month and we were also doing it in honour of all women during this women’s month,” he said.

Mr Ndaba also encourages the community to support in building the future of young girls.

“Let us join hands in liberating young women and in ensuring that they receive sanitary towels because lack of sanitary pads may cause absenteeism from school, especially for girls and as a result they will be left behind in acquiring knowledge in class.

“We call upon everyone and all businesses people to donate sanitary towels to young women as this will be a monthly program,” he said.
