Mmamotse Primary Women’s Imbizo

The South African Police Service Temba branch,Department of Health,Department of Social Development, Pastor Phiri and parent’s joined forces to attend the Imbizo at Mmamotse Primary School on Saturday.

The purpose of the Imbizo was to address challenges that young people are facing on a daily basis, such as domestic violence, rape, murder, child neglect, misuse of child support grant and abuse of educators.

Parents were motivated by other stakeholders pertaining to their service to the community and pamphlets were distributed to the parents at the event to raise awareness. Children were advised not to abuse drugs and to stop bullying at school.

Crime prevention tips were communicated and parents were also encouraged to take care of their children.

Captain Sarah Lesabana of Corporate Communication Temba SAPS, said ” Young people should break the silence on Domestic violence, sexual abuse, children’s right and other form of abuse against children.

“Raising a child is everyone’s business and everyone must assist the police by reporting any criminal activities happening in the community,” said Captain Lesabane .

The principal of Mmamotse Primary, Ms Mothobi, thanked all for making a positive contribution to the event.
