Moretele Local Municipality has in terms of Section 32 of Moretele Spatial Planning and Land Use Management By-law, 2016 read with Section 35 of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act 16 of 2013), approved the establishment of its own Municipal Planning Tribunal as per Resolution No. 09001-08-2019 dated 07 August 2019, to exercise the powers and perform the functions of a Municipal Planning Tribunal in respect of its area of jurisdiction.
Notice is hereby given in terms of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act 16 of 2013), that Moretele Local Municipality hereby invites nominations for members of the public to be appointed to the Moretele Municipal Planning Tribunal for its first term of office.
The period of office of members will be five (5) years calculated from the date of appointment of such members by the Municipality.
Nominees must be persons, from the following disciplines (Registered Town and Regional Planners, Legal Practitioners, Engineers, Land Surveyors, Environmentalists or any other persons who have knowledge and interest in town planning), with leadership qualities and must have knowledge and experience of spatial planning, land use management and land development or the law related thereto.
Each nomination must be in writing and must contain the following information:
(a) The name and address of the nominator, who must be a natural person and a person may nominate himself or herself;
(b) The name, address and identity number of the nominee;
(d) Motivation by the nominator for the appointment of the nominee to the Planning Tribunal (not exceeding one page);
(e) A short curriculum vitae of the nominee (not exceeding two pages);
(f) Certified copies of qualifications and registration certificates indicating registration with the relevant professional body or voluntary association.

Nominations must be sent to The Municipal Manager, Private Bag X367, Makapanstad, 0404 or hand-delivered at 4065 B, Mathibestad, Makapanstad, 0404, within 14 days from the date of publication.
