With Coronavirus being the biggest threat to humanity, Jubilee Hospital in Hammanskraal implemented tight regulations and strict hygienic protocols from the entry point to its premises, as a way of preventing the spread of coronavirus during the lockdown.
Communications Officer, Mr Moses Tlamama, said, ‘‘we have initiated very tight regulations and strict hygienic measures here at the hospital since the coronavirus pandemic began, as you can see from the gate, our patients are being sprayed by sanitizers and we have canceled visiting times for all patients, visitors are only allowed to make phone calls to check how the patient is recovering’’ Mr Tlamama said.
Currently, only emergencies are attended to such as bleeding patients, pregnant women, termination of pregnancy and other emergency patients, including those who come to collect their medication.
Mr Tlamama said after the patient has passed beyond the entry point of the hospital, that particular patient is directed to the blue tent to be examined if the patient is suspected to be positive of coronavirus, that patient then goes to the other small tent for further examinations.
From the small tent, the samples of the suspected coronavirus patient are taken and sent to the laboratory for test results.
The hospital has put up posters on the walls advising patients about coronavirus. From the first blue tent patients are instructed to be one meter away from each other so that if one of them has the virus, it does not get a chance to spread,’ Mr Tlamama said.
