Needy families in the Moretele Local Municipality will benefit from a Low-Cost Housing Project that was launched by Mayor Clrr Andries Makinta Monaheng.

Cllr Abel Motsepe, head of Infrastructure Development at the Municipality, said 2 100 families around the area of Moretele Local Municipality will benefit from this housing project.

“The criteria used to identify the beneficiaries is unemployed families, child-headed families, orphans, and destitute families.

“This project will also create job opportunities for the communities,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr Ranthekeng Moloisane of Dan House village in Moretele Local Municipality in the Northwest West Province, said he is still in shock that he has received his beautiful house from the Municipality.

“I can die in peace now that my family has a house.”

Communications Manager of Moretele Municipality, Mr Mothupi Malebye, said Mr Moloisane used to stay in a shack with his family where they did not have privacy.  “During winter the shack was too cold and too hot in summer,” he said.
