The Hammanskraal Tennis Club participated at the Gauteng North Wilson that took place from 12-14 February 2021.
Simon Tlhatlha who is a practicing attorney at Tlhatlha Attorneys and a Chairperson of Hammanskraal Tennis Club said he was impressed with the performance of one of the rising stars, Eric Matjiane (14), who is participating in the under 16 years olds for the first time this year and finished as a runner up (Position 2) in the under 16 boys games.
He said achievement to be proud of was the performance of Oratile Ngobeni (12) and Tshepang Maisela (12) who played boys under 14 for the first time this year and finished position 4 and 6 respectively out of 16 players. “These are great results taking into consideration that they were playing with boys older than them.
Mogomotsi Sekgobela (12) and Ofentse Mphahlele (15) played with girls under 14 and 16 and won 3 of 5 matches.
Other players that took part were, Lucas Chauke (14), Tshepang Tlhatlha (14), Mpho Phungwayo (15), Lesedi Maluleke (18), Botshelo Moses (14), and Presencia Ndhlovu (14)
Mr Tlhatlha said that the club is greatly pleased with the progress made by club players.
“There are few players showing great improvement which are not part of the past tournament and we would like to include them in the next tournaments,” he said.
