ActionSA took their #ThankOurHeroes Campaign to I.M Filling Station in Refentse, Hammanskraal on the 21st of February 2021.

This is after the campaign was launched in Botshilu Private Hospital in Soshanguve on the 14th of February.

ActionSA’s Gauteng Provincial Operations Manager, Mr Abel Tau, said the idea behind the campaign is to appreciate frontline workers.

“A lot of men and women such as petrol attendants, cashiers, store shelve packers and the taxi drivers have made sure that the country stays afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We want to make sure that South Africans never forget that these people are heroes, and we all know somebody who is a hero whether they are a bus driver or doctor, they all played a role in keeping us safe as a country,” he said.

I.M Filling Station Manager, Tsakane Makhubela, said they feel appreciated now that their work and contribution are recognized because it has not been an easy thing to wake up and come to work during the pandemic lockdowns.

“Though we had positive Covid-19 cases, we did not panic, we carried on with our work, and for ActionSA to acknowledge us, that means a lot,” he said.
