South African Police Services (SAPS) Members of Temba in conjunction with Tshwane Metro police, Imisebeyelanga, Community policing forum including local stakeholders embark on drug awareness campaign at Stinkwater on the 14 April 2021.
Sergeant Herman Moremi 0f Corporate Communication SAPS Temba said the awareness was held at Peace Maker Sports where community members were addressed about the danger of drugs and substance abuse. Community members and leaders were urged to assist the police in fighting this kind of crime and to identify drug hotspots in the area and any suspicious activities.
He said the community was urged to take responsibility and monitor the movement of their kids at all times to reduce trafficking of drugs and to utilize crime stop line 08600 10111 or 112 free from any network. Police also distributed pamphlets to empower them with information about the danger of drugs.
“The management of Temba is aware of crime trends which influenced by the use of drugs, and thus includes housebreaking and theft and common robbery where drug users want to generate money to buy drugs, unfortunately, the Police will deal with those who deal in drugs in our society,” Sergeant Moremi said.
