The President of ActionSA, Mr Herman Mashaba, will be writing to the Mayor of the City of Tshwane, Cllr Randall Williams, the Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, and the South African Revenue Service (SARS) over service delivery failures in Hmmanskraal
This follows a visit to Temba Police Station and inspections of Kudube Ext 2, in Temba Hammanskraal on 13 May 2021.
Mr Mashaba said Kudube Ext 2 community has become the target of criminals, alleged property invasions, by-law infringements, reported attempted hijackings, and other criminal activity.
The visit was occasioned by community reports of rising criminality which culminated in an alleged attempted hijacking by a gang of assailants who are also alleged to be undocumented persons. It is alleged that the assailants are well known to the community and a case has since been opened with the South African Police Service (SAPS).
During today’s visit, Mr, Mashaba said he engaged with police at the Temba Police Station, demanding that the community’s concerns regarding criminality be taken seriously. ActionSA will continue to monitor the police’s response to crime in the area, in general, and the specific case against this gang of criminals.
“it also became evident that a substantial amount of law enforcement needs to be undertaken by various spheres of government. The construction of illegal structures, alleged illegal occupation of properties, and infringements of by-law seem to have become commonplace,” he said.
Mr, Mashaba said that this is why his party will seek an urgent engagement with Minister Motsoaledi on this issue.
“It is high time that our communities see what caring, committed, and inclusive governance can be. We stand ready to provide a real alternative to broken governance that has failed all South Africans,” he said.
