Uniform and hygiene packs including 400 hygiene packs, 40 blankets, a wheelchair, and sporting equipment were donated to Phelang LSEN School in Hammanskraal and Mlokotwa-Dube Primary School in Winterveld on the 9th of June 2021.
The donations were made by the Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Cllr Randall Williams, joined by MMC for Community and Social Development, Cllr Thabisile Vilakazi, and stakeholder, MaxProf.
Mr. Williams said the City’s job is to provide basic services such as glass cutting, repairing potholes and streetlights, “however, we also have a duty to assist the needy and underprivileged in our communities,”
“This is difficult times for South Africa, our economy is not performing well and as a result parents do not have jobs and are struggling to provide basic for their children which will ultimately affect their learning.
He thanked MaxProf for the donation of the school uniform and committed that the City remains resolute to building sustainable partnership with business and various stakeholders to assist and empower communities.
