Literacy4life will visit Mosetlha Primary School in Hammanskraal for Mandela Day on the 18th of July 2021, with a mission to empower the school with 5000 books and paint.

The Chairperson of Literacy4life Ms Vena Chueu said, “Our plans for Mandela day are focused on Mosetlha Primary School. We will be handing them a Library with books, we will also announce the program to go to Makanspatad in conjunction with the Virtual activities we have planned,”

“Through our campaign #Kilometers4Books, various corporates and individuals have donated books for distribution to communities and schools nationwide,” she said.

Literacy4Life foundation is a non–profit organization, which was established in 2019 by patron, Mr Marukgwane Moremogolo, with a mission to empower underserved communities with one book at a time.

Ms Chueu said Mr Moremogolo reached out to friends and corporates to donate books for every kilometer he ran, with the aim of building libraries in underserved communities.

“Our aim is to encourage a culture of reading and learning throughout communities, to build confidence in young learners through literacy, and to foster communities that encourage intellectual curiosity,” Ms Chueu said.
