A local Hammanskraal DJ is asking the community members to donate sanitary towels in support of school children who are from indigent families.
The DJ, 38-year-old Tebogo Hlongwane, well known as “Dj Khaza” from Mathibestad, Hammanskraal, started the sanitary towel donation program in 2019 to give back to the community, particularly school children.
So far he has managed to contribute 800 sanitary towels at Lepono Primary School and his next target this year is Mosetlha Primary Schoohe.
“The research I conducted, indicated that most kids are afraid to discuss menstruation topics with their parents, so school becomes a safe place and that is why we are targeting schools,” he said.
