Givers Youth Foundation, a charity organization with the purpose of giving back to the community, dedicated their time to celebrate women’s month with the women at Lithabong Care Centre, in Hammanskraal on Saturday.
The foundation with Thembastar Facebeat donated sanitary pads and clothes, free make-up, and provided photoshoots. The purpose was to build confidence in other women and also to remind them that they can combine beauty with intelligence.
The founder of Givers Youth Foundation, Mr Mpho Kekana, said women are the pillars of society. He said, “In most communities, a woman plays the role of a mother and a father and they are seldom celebrated, that is why we came out to celebrate them.”
Thembisile Mabena of Thembstar Face Beats said she feels honored and grateful to be a part of this event.
“It is fulfilling to encourage women to focus and uplift themselves even though they face difficult challenges. We remind them that their pain can be valuable life lessons to help them succeed.”
The founder of Lethabong Care Center, Ms Linah Mokomene said she is honored and humbled by what the foundation and Thembisile have done for them.
“On behalf of the centre I would like to thank the foundation for acknowledging and celebrating us on our month. The donations will help our beneficiaries,” said Ms Mokomene.
