Givers Youth Foundation (GYF) donated 455 sanitary towels to Hosea Kekana Secondary School in Hammanskraal to help bring a smile to every girl child and to make their lives easier and better.
The school coordinator, Ms Khumalo, said, “We understand that our learners come from different households, and some of them find it difficult to ask for help when they need pads.
“We are very grateful to the foundation and may God help them to increase their scope so that they may keep blessing others,” said Mrs Kumalo.
The founder of GYF, Mr Mpho Kekana, said a girl child shouldn’t have to worry about their monthly periods, instead, they should focus on their studies and well-being.
“We know how uncomfortable it can be for a woman to be on their period and have to worry about how they will get through the day. For a young girl who has to depend on others to get through everything, this is where we as Givers come in and help relieve this burden for young girls,” he said.
“He also added that a lot of people are ready and willing to help but they don’t always how they can help, so as Givers we are here as a medium to bridge that gap as well as make life easier and better,” he added.
