Police host sports against crime at Temba Stadium

The Temba Police together with the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD), and the Community policing forum(CPF) held sports against crime events at Temba Stadium today.

Sergeant Herman Moremi of Corporate Communication SAPS Temba said the aim of the tournament was to keep children off the street and introduce them to sporting activities like netball and soccer. A number of 24 teams participated including under 15 boys and girls joined by SAPS soccer and netball teams who also took part in the tournament.

He said the tournament was sponsored by Unica factory, Bakwena N1, N4 Talls and Ditau funeral service. The winning teams walked away with new soccer jerseys and netball jerseys, medals, and trophies.

“The community of Hammanskraal appreciates what the police and CPF are doing in fighting the use of drugs and substance abuse amongst young boys and girls and also leading by example in participating in the tournament, Sergeant Moremi said.
