Members of the Temba SAPS Employee Health and Wellness together with members of the Community policing forum (CPF) held a cancer awareness campaign in Temba on 2022-10-28.
The awareness started with a walk of five kilometres around Temba and continued with motivational speakers where members were urged to take care of themselves and to do regular checkups to know their status.
Sergeant Herman Moremi of Corporate Communications SAPS Temba said a cancer survivor shared her experience on how she noticed changes in her body and how she received treatment how she is free from cancer and still continued to do regular checkups.
“She encouraged members to start knowing their health status as soon as possible so that they can get help as early as possible,” he said.
Different organisations were on standby for those who wanted to do screening and eye testing on the day.
