The South African Council for Graduates (SACGRA) has embarked on a major recruitment drive to place 950 unemployed graduates and interns throughout South Africa by Friday 10 March 2023.
Overall, SACGRA has a minimum target to place at least 3000 graduates and interns by the end of the 2023 academic year. Providing work opportunities to at least ten (10) students or youth per day multiplied by 365 a day with 3650 placements is an ambitious but achievable target. SACGRA is of the conviction that this target could be exponentially increased with more available funding from corporates, government and SETAS to alleviate the abnormally high youth unemployment rates.
The placement opportunity for graduates and interns is funded by the Local Government SETA (LGSETA) as a corporate social investment to provide students in various study disciplines with much-needed work-integrated learning and experience. The initiative is also aimed at alleviating high youth unemployment rates for student and youth communities in various provinces.
Unemployed graduates who require work-based experience and interns who need a mandatory internship or work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities to complete their practicals are urged to submit their online applications by completing this form.
To be successfully considered for placement your supporting documents including your academic transcripts and SA ID must have been recently certified in 2023. Selection will be conducted on a first come first served basis until all the 950 available vacancies have been successfully filled on or before Friday 10 March 2023. So, the earlier or sooner you apply for the vacancies, the better chance you stand for selection ad placement.
Graduates and interns who are successfully selected will be placed closer to their home addresses and municipalities for a fair and just distribution of graduates and interns to all provinces. Successfully placed incumbents will be offered a contract for placement with prospective employers and a monthly stipend for their subsistence throughout their contract duration.
