
Saving Lives Foundation, a renowned cancer campaign trailblazers, have announced their latest initiative aimed at combating the usage of nyaope, a highly addictive street drug, and addressing gender-based violence.
The campaign, titled “Nyaope and Gender-Based Violence Must Fall,” will be held in honor of the esteemed sports writer, Thomas Kwenaite, who hails from the Moretele area in the Northwest province.
The event, organized by the Saving Lives Foundation, is set to attract numerous former soccer players, including some local talents. Already, 16 prominent figures in the sport have confirmed their attendance, ensuring that the occasion will be a significant milestone. The extravaganza is expected to draw no less than 10,000 sports enthusiasts.
Just two months ago, the Saving Lives Foundation successfully conducted a cancer campaign in Lebotloane, which saw a turnout of over 8,000 individuals and garnered widespread media coverage.
The upcoming sports extravaganza will span the dates of September 30th to October 1st, 2023, taking place at the Skomboys Ground near Mashilo Matsho Primary School in Little Village. The event will commence at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 6:00 p.m. throughout the two days.
A total of 32 teams will participate in the tournament, offering an exciting showcase of athletic prowess. Additionally, scouts will be present to identify exceptional players who may be given the opportunity to partake in trials for higher leagues.
This annual event also presents an opportunity for the Moretele Masters, a local team, to compete against former legends from the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
