The Academy is committed to providing a nurturing learning environment where students in Grades R to 7 can thrive academically and spiritually. “As an accredited institution registered with the Gauteng Department of Education and Umalusi, JCA’s mission is to equip students with a comprehensive education grounded in biblical principles,” she added.
Ms Karen van Zyl, an educator with a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to learning, has assumed the role of Deputy Principal. With a wealth of knowledge in theology and education, as well as significant experience in children’s ministry and supporting students with diverse learning needs, Ms van Zyl is poised to contribute to the continued growth and success of JCA.
“I firmly believe that all children can learn. As teachers, it is our responsibility to identify and nurture each learner’s unique abilities,” shared Ms. van Zyl. She has a particular passion for remedial and LSEN education and is currently pursuing her B.Ed Honours degree in learning support.
Ms Klopper further highlighted that Mr Gregory Colin, from the surrounding area of Hartebeespoort Dam, brings a sense of purpose and a strong commitment to serving others to his role as Principal. His educational journey encompasses diverse experiences, including teaching English and coaching rugby at a high school in Johannesburg, as well as a transformative tenure in Saudi Arabia that significantly influenced his teaching philosophy. “After two rewarding years as a teacher at JCA, where he also served as the Head of Department, Mr. Colin accepted the position of Principal, guided by his faith in Jesus Christ and a sincere dedication to spreading the Gospel,” Ms Klopper stated.
“I aim to prepare our JCA learners for a world that often challenges the truth. It is my vision to see our school grow into a High School, where the same quality education is delivered from a Biblical worldview,” said Mr Colin.
Ms Klopper expressed the welcome extended by the JCA community to Mr Gregory Colin and Ms Karen van Zyl, acknowledging their passion for education, faith, and dedication to student success. She added, “The JCA family eagerly anticipates the positive impact they will have on the growth and development of the school community.”
