Ms Angelinah Sekonyela, a 28-year-old teacher at Batho Pele Christian School, is using her platform as a Miss Remarkable South Africa pageant finalist to make a difference in her community.
Ms Sekonyela is passionate about supporting the students at her school, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds in the Vastfontein area in Hammanskraal. As part of her fundraising efforts, she is aiming to assist learners with school fees, provide school uniforms for those in need, and collect 2,000 sanitary towels to support girls’ education.
“Many children in Vastfontein go unnoticed and marginalized,” Ms Sekonyela said. “I aspire to be an ambassador for change and make a positive impact in my community. Let’s work together to create a brighter future for our youth!”
Ms Sekonyela is inviting the community to join the school’s celebration on 03 October 2024 to learn more about the fundraising initiative and find out how they can contribute. The school welcomes all forms of donations, including sports equipment, to support the students.
“I’m passionate about making a difference in the lives of my students,” Ms Sekonyela added. “Through this fundraising effort, I hope to provide essential resources and opportunities that will empower them to succeed.”
