Tshwane — In developments for the City of Tshwane, Executive Mayor Cllr Nasiphi Moya has announced the formation of a new multiparty Mayoral Committee to address the pressing needs of the capital city. The announcement came during a media briefing where Mayor Moya expressed condolences to the family of former Reserve Bank Governor Mr. Tito Mboweni, emphasizing the city’s commitment to community support.

Mayor Moya reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to accessibility and responsiveness. “Today marks the end of uncertainty as I announce the political executive that will be taking this City forward,” she stated.

The Mayor outlined the committee’s primary focus, restoring essential services and addressing long-standing neglect within the city. “Providing quality basic services is not a matter of politics, but of principle,” she emphasized, pledging that every resident deserves fundamental dignity.

The newly appointed Mayoral Committee members include:

Cllr Sarah Mabotsa (GOOD) – Economic Development and Spatial Planning
Cllr Obakeng Ramabodu (EFF) – Environment and Agriculture Management
Cllr Eugene Modise (ANC) – Finance

Cllr Kholofelo Morodi (ActionSA) – Corporate and Shared Services
Cllr Aaron Maluleka (ANC) – Housing and Human Settlements
Cllr Tlangi Mogale (ANC) – Roads and Transport
Cllr Frans Boshielo (ANC) – Utility Services
Alderman Coetzee (ActionSA) – Community Safety

Mayor Moya expressed gratitude to the leadership of the political parties for their collaborative spirit, stating, “We have made a promise that we will serve all the residents of Tshwane.”

The committee’s key priorities will include enhancing safety and security, fostering economic development and job creation, investing in infrastructure, and ensuring financial sustainability, particularly in addressing the city’s inherited R6.8 billion debt to Eskom.

Looking ahead, Mayor Moya announced that the committee would convene for its first official meeting in the coming days to outline a collective plan of action focused on revitalizing the city. “Our residents deserve better,” she concluded, indicating that a detailed governance agenda will be shared soon.
