She said the testing, conducted in collaboration with the Magalies Water Board, confirmed that the water supplied meets all necessary health and safety standards. Residents can review public reports detailing the water quality evaluations.

The mayor stated that the evaluation process involved extensive testing of water samples from various sources, revealing a 100% compliance rate for parameters related to acute, chronic, operational, and aesthetic health risks.

“These findings meet and exceed the South African National Standards (SANS) for potable water,” she said.

The supply areas include Wards 49, 73, 74, and 75, specifically Mandela Village, Marokolong, Ramotse, Kekana Gardens, and Babelegi Industrial.

The City stated that it plans to implement further improvements in the coming months and encourages residents to remain engaged and report any concerns regarding water quality and that the comprehensive reports are available on the City’s official website.

In related news, the Department of Water and Sanitation has emphasized the importance of proper water treatment and testing, particularly in light of recent cholera outbreaks in the region.
