Police investigations have intensified in the disappearance of 16-year-old Boipelo Nkuna, who has been missing since 2021, after authorities began searching a property in New Eesterus Block F3 where her remains are suspected to be buried.
Forensic teams have spent several days at the scene, focusing their search on a backyard linked to a person of interest as the investigation progresses.
Boipelo’s disappearance devastated her family and left the community anxious and searching for answers. Although the case was reported to the police at the time, her mother says the investigation moved slowly, prompting her to seek help from various sources, including a traditional healer.
“I’ve travelled everywhere trying to find help and answers about Boipelo’s disappearance and have lost so much money,” her mother said in an interview with Kasi Lifestyle-Updates.
According to eyewitness accounts, the traditional healer accompanied Boipelo’s mother and authorities to the property now under investigation.
Five years after her disappearance, community members have voiced frustration, saying the case was not handled with the urgency it deserved. Some residents believe more could have been done earlier before outside assistance allegedly led authorities to the current search location.
Tensions remain high in the area as residents await official confirmation from authorities. Police have not yet released a formal statement on the outcome of the ongoing forensic investigation.
