The community of Rockville in Hammanskral have raised dissatisfaction with the construction company GroupFive for eroding the tar road in the area where the compony is is building a new water supply to the water purification plant that is based in the Temba location.
“There is no longer any tart road because they bulldozed it off, I cannot drive my car out of the yard when it rains as it gets stuck by the mud in front of my gate,” said Mr Piet Maphoroma (83), a resident of Rockville in Hammanskraal next to the construction area.
He said when the construction company came in to install sewerage pipes in the area the road was tart and now it is eroded.

That seems not to be the only problem, the first company that came in to install sewerage pipes brought loads of soil mixed with cement claiming to fix up the road after the community had complained.
“In dry seasons we face challenges of a dusty situations which also cause a problem to us. This trucks pass by our homes every minute as they deliver various equipment and they produce lots of dust that comes into our homes.
“The soil is mixed up with cement which we are forced to inhale which is bad for our health because the dust is mixed with small particles of cement.” He said.
Leahann Botha, an engineer at GroupFive, said they cannot take the blame for the condition of the road but promised to maintain the road as the company is using it every day.
