Commuters using the services of the Tshwane Bus Service are warned of possible disruption of services on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 February 2016.

Media Director at the City, Mr Lindela Mashigo, said this is as a result of the disciplinary proceedings of about 60 South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) affiliated Tshwane Bus Service (TBS) drivers who embarked on an unprotected strike in July 2014.
The bus drivers’ strike action saw a number of commuters left without transport during the period of the strike.
The City then instituted disciplinary action against them and the hearings were postponed several times due to other related reasons.
All bus commuters using the Tshwane Bus Service are thus advised to make use of alternative transport as there is no guarantee of a full fleet for the daily services.
“The disciplinary proceedings are part of the TBS management’s efforts to root out the culture of ill-discipline within its department.
“”It is with regret that our commuters might be inconvenienced however the City’s vision is that of providing an efficient and reliable services to the community of Tshwane.
“No employee/s should willy-nilly engage in a work stoppage without following procedure,” Mr Mashigo said.
