Ramotse My Home Foundation, together with its sponsors hosted a Gop Green Fun Run recently in Ramotse Village.
According to Mrs Amaleah Mbewe of Ramotse My Home Foundation, April was dedicated to sports in their year plan but due to financial hosted a fun run which is low cost during the weekend of Saturday April 30 2016 .
One of the runners, Mr Tshepang Makinta, who also came first, was excited about the event, “I heard from people that there’s going to be a fun run on this day, then I saw an opportunity coming my way,” he said he had trained harder than he used to in preparation of the Fun Run.
Mr Billy Kubayi who came second, was equally excited, said he also trained hard in preparation of the event since January.
Ms Leah Mothandaza who came third said she’s so happy because this was her first fun run and said she wanted to try running because she usually do aerobics,” I say forward with sports because sports keeps you fit and prevents diseases,” she said.
Close to 140 people registered to participate and some paid registration and as part of donation but they did not participate. “We are planning to host soccer, netball, cycling and karate in the near future, this is part of our long term sports and recreation programme,” Ms Mbewe said. She also said that their colours represents new life, fertile ground, peaceful atmosphere and purity, that is why they decided to GO GREEN to promote nature, fertility, life , growth, purity, humility and light.
Magalies Water donated bottled water and Ramotse Clinic, Tshwane EMS and Red Cross offered emergency service.
