The Star Arts Productions, through Gemini Lifestyle Events will stage an inaugural lifestyle event at the scenic Pretoria National Botanical Gardens in Tshwane on Sunday 7th August 2016.

The event will have greater variety and specialised focus to ensure that it closely match people’s passions and pursuits. The festival is named “Tsa Basadi Lifestyle Festival”. “Tsa Basadi” means “For the women” in Sotho. “As August is a month where the nation celebrates women, we think it is befitting to have women spearheading all the elements of the festival. “This will bring a unique, authentic, entertainment and learning experience to a new audience,” said Sponono Shibambo Spokesperson of Star Arts Production. South Africa has annual notable festivals like the Cape Town Jazz Festival, Joy of Jazz, Oppikoppi, DSTV Delicious and other food and wine shows.

“But there is still a gap in the entertainment scene of a unique lifestyle festival where people will discover new experiences, explore their passions and express themselves. “A festival that will incorporate complementary lifestyle vendors and elements such as arts & crafts, beauty, fashion, wellness, food, wine, whisky, cigar, craft beer, kiddies zone, technology, household items, comedy and live music,” she said.
The world of festivals has evolved in the past few years. Festival goers are now more interested in going to events that are customised to their interests, hobbies and passions. Super targeted, niche events with tailored packages are driving significant growth in the festivals and consumer events space around the world.
The South African performing and visual arts sectors are vibrant and dynamic, and they are one of the largest sectors in the country. This event will provide a platform for aspiring artists to exhibit their work and at the same time foster awareness of the talent in the country.
The event will start with a workshop on Saturday 6th August 2016. The workshop will focus on education, training and personal development. The main event will showcase lifestyle experiences for the whole family. “By staging this event in its intended form, we will be able to achieve various objectives,”Ms Shibambo said.
She said lifestyle events draw a unique psychographic/demographic combination crowds. They are always eager to experiment new things, not concerned with higher price points, feel very proud to be identified as trend setters and they stay at events for four hours or more. They are more likely to make choices for groups they are part of and are more open-minded customers that are eager to engage in experiential marketing.

nomaThe specific event is the first in an annual series that will grow year on year staged in the City of Tshwane which has a population of 2 921 488 and average household income of R 188 822. The event is projected to draw a crowd of 5 000 in year one and will reach more than a million eyeballs during the marketing campaign.

Musicians that will feature at the event include Zonke and traditional musician Nothembi Mkhwebane and host DJ Nothemba Madumo.
