Residents of Temba are notified of planned shut-down of the Temba Water Purification Plant from Wednesday, 24 January 2018 at 08:00 till Thursday, 25 January 2018 at 08:00.
The areas affected are Dilopye, New Eersterus, Temba, Babelegi Industries, Marokolong, Ramotse, Majaneng, Mandela Village, Sekampaneng and Hammanskraal.
This shut-down is necessitated by the need to carry-out essential work at the plant.
The upkeep programme forms part of bulk water connections/tie-ins and corrosion protection repairs on the bulk water supply system. It is also for the welding repairs, removal of the temporary bypass water pipeline at the raw water pump station, installation of fittings on the bulk water supply, connection of electricity cables to the new transformers and connection of new electricity cables to complete the ring main for the new plant.
City of Tshwane Director Media Relations, Mr Lindela Mashigo, said roaming water tankers has been arranged to supply residents with water during this period.
