A 30 year old man was shot and killed this afternoon at Mmotla village in Temba North of Pretoria at around 15:00 today.
Constable Herman Moremi of Corporate Communication at Temba Police Station said It is alleged that the deceased was playing dice with friends at the tavern at Dikolong section when the suspect entered and pointed them with firearm, demanding money and cell phones.
The suspect started shooting and shot the deceased on the upper body and killed him instantly. Everyone who was in the tavern managed to flee including the suspect who got away with a small amount of money.
The deceased was identified by the family and the suspects is well known. Two cartridges and projectile were found at the scene. A case of murder has been opened for further investigation.
Police are on search for the suspect whom they hope to be arrested soon.
Community members are advised not to approach the suspect as he is armed and dangerous, but to inform the police on 08600 10111 or 012 717 9000.
